since i have not seen anybody share information on this here, please pay attention to the philippines right now and provide any support you can. if this bill passes, people’s basic rights to free speech will be taken from them.

anyone seeing this from the ph, please stay safe and stay strong. these are scary times.

if you haven’t shared this, please do. i know there’s already a lot happening with BLM in america but this is equally as important.

my partner lives in the ph and she is scared and is being ignored right now by their followers despite how fatal this situation is.

if the bill passes, this gives the ph government the right to arrest ANYBODY under the notion of being a “terrorist.” they will monitor everybody’s internet. this is a direct violation of freedom of speech and it’s unfolding right before our eyes.

in reference to that last post i reblogged, i should also mention:

PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR ANTISEMITIC PROPAGANDA IN ANTI COP ART/POSTS. PLEASE PLEASE LOOK.

right now, being anti-cop is NECESSARY, but some people use “anti cop” art to actually depict EXTREMELY ANTISEMITIC, DANGEROUS propaganda

look for:

  • references to “lizard people”
  • references to “zealot” “world controlling organizations” etc etc
  • SIX-POINTED STARS (MAGEN DAVID) ON POLICE UNIFORMS OR SIMILAR POSITIONS OF POWER
  • large, hooked/downward-pointed noses
  • kippot/yarmulkes on police/other authority figures (this one should be more obvious, but.. you’d be surprised)
  • references to israel
  • triple parentheses
  • iron crosses on “punks”

i totally, 100% understand the temptation to rb all the anti cop stuff you see. it’s a good instinct. but goyim NEED to look out for these dogwhistles. IT IS NEVER INNOCENT. IF YOU SEE THESE THINGS, IT IS NOT TRULY ANTI COP, IT IS ANTISEMITIC. IT IS COMPARING JEWISH PEOPLE TO POLICE.

just make sure the message you’re spreading is a good one. be safe, and keep your community safe (including the jewish ones).

As white people, we can’t begin to eradicate our internalized biases without knowing how to identify them. Let’s educate ourselves. And don’t forget that these are biases you need to call out when you see them in others as well.

On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.

On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.

Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.

I’m going to reblog this again since I see more individuals are inquiring about burnout prevention tips in the notes and it’s why I sought out this resource. I hope it helps you!

It will be easy for certain people to rewrite history. Dont let them.

I’m Alex, and my boyfriend’s name is Kleyton. We are both 21. Kleyton works very hard to support me through my disability, but he recently lost his work because of the Corona virus shutting down the place. We haven’t been able to find him work yet, despite our best efforts. The way they let him go and his status has an immigrant make unemployment more difficult to get. We chase down job leads every day. I work as much as I can, but I’m disabled. I have severe endometriosis and adenomyosis. I currently need my 5th surgery for it, but the virus has also delayed that. Unfortunately it hasn’t delayed my medical needs like prescriptions and telemedicine appointments.

Due to these costs and our lack of income, our land lady is evicting us. We have ONE WEEK to get our funds together and move out on Friday, June 12th. We have been fortunate enough to almost immediately have found a place to go. We’re all set to move in, we just need our security deposit and first month’s rent. The security deposit is $275 and first month’s rent is $550. With fees from gofundme, we’ll need about $850.

We have been together for a year now, and would be devastated to be separated in homeless shelters or living out of cheap motels. We both work very hard, and have just been very unfortunate finding ourselves in this situation from the virus. I don’t have family to go to, and he does, but they’re back in Guatemala and we would need transport costs to get down there. Our best bet is help from you! With your help, we can gather enough money to move and start fresh as this virus stuff calms down and he can return to work. We’re very excited to move into a new place with new people. We are just desperate for your help in getting there.

Without your help, we won’t make it. I know there’s a lot going on in this world right now, and we’re just another thing added to it. But I’m confident that we can do this, and I have faith in your help. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any more questions or concerns!!

Thank you very much for your time,

Alex & Kleyton
